Site Update - CMS & Content

The site has been updated with content that was missing from the portfolio in the past and a few parts of the CMS have been re-written & optimized. The Projects, Archives, and Game Portal have been updated, along with new pages for 3D Printing, Embedded Systems, and Hardware.

Site Update - PHP & SSL

PHP version updated to 8.3 and SSL enabled for the whole site. It’s been a long time in the works but the live system is now in line with the PHP version and configuration of the Development environment.

Gym Clock

It's been a while since I've posted some new content and today I have an update I think you'll find useful!

The Gym Clock was created in HTML & Javascript to time sets of exercises and the tool evolved to have the ability to record laps, count up/down, show real time, change colors and more! It can be used to time anything you can think of, or simply as a basic digital clock.

Besides the online version, I've provided a standalone and downloadable copy available on the Gym Clock page.

RPG Game and Site Updates

I have completed an old flash game file which I had lying around on the computer. The RPG Game is an action / adventure turn based battle game where the objective is to level up and defeat the final boss. One idea I finalized was the “RPG Builder” where after the game is beat you can customize the game configuration using the RPG Builder. In order for this to happen most of the game variables had to be defined in functions to load / reset the configuration when changes are made. The game will also save your last configuration in browser cache for 3Dmitchell.com.

Check it out, use magic spells to defeat your opponents, and submit your high score!

In general maintenance, the site has been cleaned up a little and the projects page has been updated.

Miner Mayhem & Super Mitchio Complete

Miner Mayhem & Super Mitchio have been completed! They have custom scoreboards integrated and received substantial updates from their previous versions. The games were incomplete as they were missing reliable scoreboards, had some code issues, and needed some graphical elements to be redesigned. There were large lapses in time where no work was being done and the games were left "as-is". As of today they have reached their final versions and should be fully functional in all aspects.

Miner Mayhem was started in 2011 and Super Mitchio was started in 2009.

Quake Live Rail Game & CMS Updates

eJuice Calculator

I’ve developed an eJuice Calculator that I am releasing on my site. Before making this calculator I found an eJuice Calculator from Tod Muller that didn’t quite fit my needs. It was accepting improper inputs which would display negative percentages and didn’t seem to provide any baseline error checking. I couldn’t find a mathematical source for a similar eJuice Calculator in my quick searches so I went ahead and developed my own that allows for variable Drops/ml, 7 Flavors, Water, and Alcohol percentages. The negative values should not show up in the recipe and will display an error message when incorrect values are present such as having a higher Target mg/ml than the Base mg/ml. The headers of all the pages have been changed to implement a text-shadow property if your browser supports it and I have cleaned up a couple pieces of the site which would be unnoticeable to the end user. A couple of modifications were made to the account/administration sections and I built a dynamic API System to assist tracking/exporting of data.

Site Update - Responsive Design Custom CMS

The whole site has been converted over to a responsive design template called Responsee. It was amazing the developer provided his template for free since it taught me a lot about responsive design and quickly sped up my responsive design process.

I have used the template theme to integrate my development CMS system which has now been put into production! I have around 20-25 custom written modules integrated into the CMS/Database. One of the modules is a theme builder for which there are multiple themes available and they are all responsive. With the theme builder, the admin/superuser is able to manipulate CSS themes, JS includes, and PHP includes.

I have recreated the whole site; homepage, news page, archives, projects page, 3d2d page, and the Flash Game Portal is in the works. Stay tuned, more updates to come!

New Comment System & Misc. PHP work

Did a little bit of PHP work and went through all the pages on the site. I reconfigured some of the pages to allow comments to be used effectively bringing back the commenting system. The old system went down due to a PHP server upgrade but at the time I did not have the expertise to code one myself or fix the errors in the current system. I have completely written a comment system from scratch that can be included on any page on the site. The system has the option for spam verification and emailing the administrator when new comments are posted.

I have also created the 2013 archive section as well as publishing the Halloween Flash Banner into the 2013 archives.

Greg the Bunny Soundboard, Quake Live Item Timer, and Maintenance

Went through some of the pages and did a lot of maintenance. I changed a little bit of the verbiage for landing pages and updated the news page with a new news archive. I added a border onto the sidebar calendar on the news page and updated the recent projects and archives listing. Some content additions are the Fuessel Pump & Tank project to the projects page along with the Greg the Bunny Soundboard to the projects page and flash work page. MikesMailroom.com was moved into the 2010 archive section and removed from the main menu, the 2012 section was also created in the archives. In the 2012 section I published FuesselTank.com and the Quake Live Item Timer.

Yellow Star Casino released!

Thickbox to Lightbox

Open Source content

Added a bunch of content to the open source pages and now there are multiple downloads on the forum links attached to the site. The forum is much better for organizing feedback on projects then what I have set up currently on the open source section. Also implemented a HTML site map in the footer on each page. The Actionscript, 3D Studio, PHP, and MySQL pages in the open source section need to have content put on them. This is in the works along with a couple of other minor developments.

Halloween homepage theme

The homepage has been given a Halloween scene to it. It was done using a movie from Flashkit.com and some swift editing of my own. Most of the boards now have some content posted on them at the Forum. Many other minor issues were worked out and images were created for the community page. There was also a DNA flash movie I put on the flashwork page. I got it from Flashkit.com and I found it while looking for something else.

Super Mitchio scoring system back online

Super Mitchio's scoring system came back online as Armorbots is working again. This is good news for everyone.
