Movement Training by FrEaKKiLLa - build 11/05/11 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Re-packed for Quake Live Steam Update (10/27/2015) - bots only working on freaktrainb2r + mm_freak - bot files to be updated ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Installation ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Put freaktrainfull.pk3 in correct location for quake live, the locations for different operating systems are listed. Win 7 - %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\id Software\quakelive\baseq3 Win XP - %appdata%\id Software\quakelive\baseq3 GNU/Linux - ~/.quakelive/quakelive/baseq3 MAC - user/library/application support/Quakelive/quakelive/baseq3/ Be sure to MAKE freaktrainfull.pk3 READ-ONLY so quake live does not delete it. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ====================== Four maps in one .pk3 ====================== ========================================\ 1 = 15 Checkpoint movement/defrag run | ========================================/ Information: A 15 checkpoint training run encompassing most of the basic movement techniques used in game. Movement control is more important here than gaining speed, although the advanced paths require some extra speed. Run with: /exec freaktrain ========= Settings: ========= -personal teleporter, haste, and quad available in wall strafe room (starting room) -no ammo available -flags for timing the full run are in wall strafe room (starting room) Checkpoints: 2. Clearing Gaps -Basic distance gaps. 4. Doorway and Angled Strafes -Same strafe pad setup as the starting line, with doorways that need to be strafed through. 6. Pipe and Air Strafes -The pipe strafes require a good circle jump for each one, testing your circle jump accuracy. The air strafes test your distance jumping abilities, and gaining speed in the air. 8. Curved Strafes -Curved strafes test your curved strafing ability, a crucial skill in online play. 9. Mixed Circle Jumps and High Speed Lanes -Mixed circle jumps tests your ability to circle jump efficiently through different areas. The circle jumps required are not as intense as pipe strafes, but require more control. High speed lanes are two long strafe halls with three gaps. It is broken down into beginner and advanced. 11. Land Movement and Mixed Gaps -Land movement and mixed gaps has a higher area which has two asylum bridge gaps as recreated by Freak. The lower area works on simple land movement. 12. High Road and the Footpath -The high road is the advanced route, only to be taken by advanced strafers. The footpath is the beginners route, which works on control while walking or strafe jumping, whichever you prefer. 13. Platform Air Transfers -Platform air transfers works on your controlled air strafes while jumping from a height. Checkpoint 14 focuses on air strafes from jump pads and controlled movement on moving platforms. 15. Choose your Poison -The last and final checkpoint before the final runs. This area has four lanes of five strafe pads. The distances are equivalent to Razers strafe pads levels one, two, seven, and eight (level one on the far left, level eight on the far right). Devmap with: /devmap freaktrainfull ===============================================\ 2 = Bridge to Rail training with a bonus run | ===============================================/ Information: Nine different levels of Bridge to Rail training, with an extra bonus run. The bonus run has five different levels of the asylum bridge gap as recreated by Freak. Level one B2R is the easiest, level nine is the hardest. Run with: /exec freaktrainB2R ========= Settings: ========= -haste and quad available in B2R room (starting room) -no ammo available -flags for timing are in bonus run room Devmap with: /devmap freaktrainB2R =======================================\ 3 = Weapons Jump/Navigation Training | =======================================/ Information: Different rooms for different styles of weapon jumps. Run with: /exec freaktrainweaps ========= Settings: ========= -haste and quad available in wall navigation room -rocket/plasma available in multiple rooms, grenade launcher is only in distance jumps -flags for timing are in rail movement room -join blue team for starting area Rooms: =Rocket Jump Course= -Use the rocket launcher to rocket jump and navigate this short course. There is three courses, each one increasing in difficulty. =Distance Jumps= -Use rockets, plasma, or grenades to navigate each section. There is a length training area, and two height training areas. There is also four height courses, and four distance courses, each one increasing in difficulty. The scale is set to the character being approximately seven feet tall. =Precision Jumps= -This area works on precision jumps using the rocket launcher and plasma gun. There is three types of courses in this area, the hallways are distance rocket jumps, the angled hallways are angled rocket jumps, and the short platform areas are the bloodrun plasma climb as recreated by Freak. There are six rocket jump hallways, three angled rocket jump hallways, and six plasma climb sections, each one increasing in difficulty. =Rail Movement Training= -Use your rail gun and jump into the endless loop on the jump pads. This area works on high speed rail movement while shooting bots and zooming efficiently. =Wall Navigation= -The toughest of all the challenges, the wall navigation course. Use rockets or plasma to navigate the walls and make it through each course. Start at the lowest opening of each course and end on the finishing line which will bring you right back to the start. There is seven courses, each one increasing in difficulty. Devmap with: /devmap freaktrain2 make sure to join blue team or you will be in the bots area (cage in the ceiling) ===============================================\ 4 = Muscle Memory Training | ===============================================/ Information: Train your aim skills with this map inspired by Gabriel_Ruan. Four different patterns for muscle memory training are placed within the map. The patterns are equally distanced blocks that stem from a central point. You can train your aim many ways here. One technique is to start at the center and then pick a block distance, a distance that you want to move your mouse to. Aim at the central block and then at the distance block that you chose in one swift accurate movement, and then back to the central block. Repeat for each block in that distance going around the circle. Another technique is to go from edge to edge, example, going from the far left block to the far right and back again repeating. You can pick any distance and any angle combination of the circle to hop to. It is all about memorizing the muscle memory distance subconsciously. Some of the patterns that are far away from the player are stationed in such a way so you can test your zoomed sight and sensitivity. Other than the muscle memory patterns, there is a shooting range through a door near the angled pattern on the ceiling. There is a wall door that blocks the shooting range entrance and it can be opened by shooting it. The shooting range is doors that need to be shot at through the horizontal bars blocking you from walking into the range. Bots are at the end of the range and will return fire when all the doors are opened. The doors are colored and are disorienting to shoot through when the cycle starts and they shut at non linear intervals. I made this section because the muscle memory stuff wasn't really anything that I thought up, so I designed this to put something innovative in the map. A video explaining the pattern shooting concepts found in this map can be found by searching "muscle memory counter strike" in any search engine. Run with: /exec mm_freak ========= Settings: ========= -machine gun and rail available in shooting range -bots are at end of shooting range behind doors Devmap with: /devmap mm_freak Devmap cheats: /god /give all /give haste /give quad damage /noclip _________________________________________________________________ latest version - http://3dmitchell.com/testdev/freaktrainfull.pk3 latest demo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jGUp2tBmg0
