I'm sure Sony will get right on top of this as it could potentially take money out of their pocket. Meanwhile I'm still waiting months for them to fix the handshake problem between my console and my TV when displaying in 1080p.
Or in true Sony fashion they could always turnaround and deny that there is a problem and that hack/exploit exist or that there is even a potential for it to work.

Yeah I don't know what they will do but there will definitely be something about it in the news. Hopefully he just gives out the information and now everyone can have backwards compatibility.

He did make the hack publicly available. It's not a full on hack, just an exploit and has a few steps.
