This circuit I built using a voltage regulator circuit and 4 ultra bright LED's.  It's powered by a old Nokia phone charger and is very bright for the power it consumes.  I will post some more data on the circuit in the future but R2 is used to control the voltage of the circuit.  I chose a 380 ohm resistor for R2 to give me 3.7 volts.  The ultra bright 4 pin LED's I used were 3.4 to 4.0v so I chose 3.7 for brightness.










Note: In the actual picture of the test circuit I only have 2 LED's plugged in.

so how can you tell the lumens/wavelength a LED operates @?

so how can you tell the lumens/wavelength a LED operates @?

For that you would need something like an integrating sphere.  I just assume that the lumens/mcd the LED is rated at is correct.
